Description: Tufted to cushion-forming, woody at base (Davis); Densely hummock-forming perennial to 10cm or so wide. Leaves 1.5-2.5cm long, terete, rigid, almost spine-tipped, bearing clusters of smaller leaves in their axils.

Habitat: amongst rocks at alpine and subalpine levels
